Job Description

Position: Field MEAL Assistant     
Management: Knowledge Management    
Location: Hajjah and AL-Dhalea    
Reports to: Head of Knowledge Management

Job Summary 

The effective implementation of monitoring and evaluation policies and strategies for the education project, as well as efficient organizing and coordinating of the monitoring, evaluation, and accountability processes, particularly data tracking for the education project and the preparation and submission of reports to the knowledge manager and Project Management accurately.

Key Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Regularly conducting monitoring and submitting interim reports on project tracking indicators and monitoring and evaluation plans to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
  • Supporting programs in monitoring the progress and impact of the project and ensuring compliance with agreements.
  • Assisting the field team in developing evaluation plans.
  • Participating in the development and design of monitoring and evaluation tools according to the indicators specified in the logical framework.
  • Participating in the design and preparation of electronic databases related to monitoring based on indicators specified in the logical framework.
  • Continuous field monitoring and supervision of all project activities.
  • Adhering to the use of tools and models prepared by the relevant management.
  • Activating internal monitoring, evaluation, and reporting models and periodically developing and implementing administrative forms and applications.
  • Analyzing lessons learned for quality improvement and accountability.
  • Enhancing monitoring, evaluation, and auditing as a means of guidance.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with donors, government entities, non-governmental organizations, and other organizations on monitoring and evaluation issues.
  • Using various qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection, including structured and semi-structured interviews, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observations as tools for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Developing and using key qualitative tools (checklists, observation guides, discussion guides, and interviews) for monitoring purposes.
  • Data entry related to monitoring and evaluation into electronic databases according to specified indicators in the logical framework.
  • Engaging communities in accountability and conducting community consultations.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis using appropriate software.
  • Contributing to project evaluation preparation and overseeing field activities.
  • Clearly communicating monitoring and review activities' results with project objectives.
  • Providing monthly performance reports on project progress to monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and organization management.
  • Adhering to key concepts and commitments related to accountability towards affected populations, including Sphere humanitarian principles.
  • Monitoring data quality and tracking progress in project activities.
  • Activating a mechanism for recording observations and complaints, analyzing the verification process, and reporting and following up on cases until resolved.
  • Assisting in verifying data and complaints and providing consultation.
  • Liaising with program and project staff to monitor and evaluate specified objectives and indicators for the organization's success.
  • Providing support and guidance to the organization's team in monitoring responsibilities and reporting to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Documenting and archiving all monitoring and evaluation-related documents and records for all project activities electronically and on paper.
  • Performing any tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.    

Qualifications and Experiences

  • A minimum of a two-year diploma after high school in the field of project management, Computer science, statistics or any related field.
  • Experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation in an organization with funded projects for at least two years.
  • Knowledge of working in local and international humanitarian organizations.
  • Ability to work in difficult conditions and under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in both spoken and written Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in working with all Microsoft Office programs.
