KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Strategy Formulation Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the departmental strategy and plans to ensure alliance with ADC’s business line needs and objectives.
- Leadership Manage department staff by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, training and development to ensure high level of engagement and motivated work environment.
- Sourcing of Funds Oversee the monitoring of the cash forecasting, investment, and reporting of each category of funds to ensure efficient debt and cash management for concerned projects in consistency with ADC’s policies Engage private investors, government bodies and foreign investors to source funds for the realization of ADC’s visions Formulate a cash flow matrix to monitor the flow of funds and the return on investment to the investors and the stakeholders
- Financial Accounting Direct the preparation of financial statements Review charts of accounts and propose any new accounts Implement any new IFRS standards and make the required changes
- Internal Control and Audit Monitor all internal controls to ensure the company’s assets are safeguarded, financial risks are minimized, and all statutory requirements are met. Review all internal controls through external audits and monitor the financial effectiveness of internal systems
- Audit Liaisons Engage external auditing agencies for handling the audit processes and co-ordinate the entire process for the various departments
- Risk Management Recognition of risk, risk assessment, developing strategies to manage it and mitigation of risk using managerial resources. Mapping out the following: the social scope of risk management, the identity and objectives of stakeholders, and the basis upon which risks will be evaluated as well as constraints
- Change Management Manage and oversee change in policies through continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices considering international leading practices, changes in international standards and in the business environment, and recommend actions
- Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Develop and oversee the implementation of departmental policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner
- Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls in all general ledger accounting activities to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products/ service and a responsible environmental attitude
- Reports Ensure that all departmental reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner to meet ADC policies and standards, and department requirements.
- Any ADHOC task as on required by the line manager
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in finance
- Preferably MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification from an internationally recognized business school
- ACCA or CIMA is a plus
- 7 years’ experience working in Finance Department of a large sized process/manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role
