Roles & Responsibilities
The Enterprise Architect designs, governs, and evolves the Bank s technology architecture landscape across enterprise and solution domains. He/ She defines architecture standards, principles, and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and Oman s Vision 2040 digital agenda. The Enterprise Architect bridges the gap between business strategy and technology execution, while ensuring that all technology solutions and platforms (whether on-premises or across multi-cloud environments) are secure, scalable, and aligned with the Bank s strategic direction.
Key Accountabilities:
- Defines and maintains the Bank s enterprise architecture framework across business, data, application, and technology domains in alignment with industry best practices.
- Develops and enforces architecture standards, principles, reference models, and design patterns to ensure consistency across the technology landscape.
- Leads solution architecture design for strategic and complex initiatives, ensuring scalable and future-ready solutions.
- Leads architecture across integration, API, cloud, and core banking platforms.
- Contributes to the development and execution of the technology roadmap and multi-cloud strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and vendor solutions, providing recommendations to support technology decisions.
- Ensures all architecture designs comply with security, regulatory, and risk management requirements.
- Applies the security-by-design principles in collaboration with Information Security and Risk functions.
- Participates in architecture governance forums, providing guidance and review of solution designs.
- Defines integration and API architecture standards, including middleware and data exchange frameworks.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technology architectures.
- Provides architectural guidance to project teams, vendors, and system integrators to ensure alignment with standards.
- Develops and maintains architecture artefacts, including capability models, system landscapes, and data flows.
- Identifies technical risks, architecture gaps, and optimization opportunities across platforms.
- Supports technology strategy, planning, and budgeting activities.
- Supports architecture governance for emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensures architecture decisions and artefacts are documented and aligned with governance and audit requirements.
- Contributes to knowledge sharing and promotes architecture best practices across the technology function.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline; Master s degree preferred.
- A Professional certification in Enterprise or Solutions Architecture (e.g. TOGAF 9/10, Certified Solutions Architect, OCI Architect Professional) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT architecture, including experience in a senior architecture role within regulated banking or financial services.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture and solution design across core banking, digital, and cloud environments.
- Strong experience in multi-cloud platforms and enterprise integration environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the banking sector as well as technology governance requirements is an advantage.
