Job Purpose
To inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and trucks to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations at landfill and transfer station sites. The role covers daily inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance, major repairs, breakdown response, and support for CMMS-based maintenance workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily routine checks of all assigned equipment and trucks, including visual inspection, fluid levels, leaks, and functional operation.
Perform weekly inspections and report abnormalities for corrective action.
Carry out preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance, and major maintenance work on heavy equipment and trucks as per OEM and site schedules.
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment, including:
Excavators, Dozers, Compactors, Track Loaders
Backhoe Loaders, Wheel Loaders
Material Handler with Grappler & Cutting Tool
Diesel Generators (CAT & Perkins)
Carry out maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers, including:
Forklifts, Skid Steer Loaders (Bobcat)
Wood Shredder Machine
Diesel Generators (CAT & Perkins)
Carry out maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers, including:
Hooklift Trucks, Prime Movers, Waste Compactor Trailers
Truck brands: Scania, MAN, Astra, Renault
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent
Minimum 10 years GCC experience in heavy equipment and truck maintenance
Strong experience in CAT or equivalent heavy equipment
Experience with Scania, MAN, Astra, and Renault trucks preferred
Good knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and drivetrains
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Ability to work independently, handle emergency breakdowns, and shift duties
Preferred age: 30-45 years
