JOB TITLE
Senior Manager - Commercial | MAF Retail | Head Office Oman
ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager – Commercial is responsible for establishing sourcing strategies, leading cross-functional strategic sourcing and managing merchandizing teams. The role holder is responsible for managing and negotiating with suppliers to execute contracts and optimize opportunities. Finally, he/she is in charge of defining and implementing selection of assortment, definition of category profitability, and promotional national calendar.
ROLE PROFILE

• Proven experience in category sourcing, strategic merchandising, and leading cross‑functional teams.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills with the ability to optimise commercial opportunities and contracts.
• Ability to define country‑level assortment strategies, category profitability, and promotional calendars.
• Solid market intelligence capability to anticipate risks, identify growth opportunities, and support strategic decision‑making.
• Experience in aligning online and offline assortment strategies to ensure consistent customer experience.
• Demonstrated people management skills, including performance management, coaching, and talent pipeline development.
• Hands‑on experience in workforce planning, training coordination, and ensuring availability of competent teams.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, financial reporting review, and operational cost optimisation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in E‑Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree in E‑Commerce or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
• 7–10 years of experience in category management or merchandising, with mandatory e‑commerce exposure.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Advanced analytical and technical skills, including Google Analytics, Tableau, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of e‑commerce platforms, digital merchandising, and online performance optimisation.
• Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of the local country language is preferred where applicable.
