Job Title: Operating Procedures Specialist
Location: Sohar, Oman
Service Status: Resident (5 days per week)
Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Operating Procedures Specialist to support commissioning and start-up activities for a major LNG facility. This role involves preparing start-up sequences and operating procedures, ensuring readiness for first gas, and assisting the commissioning and start-up team during execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Review commissioning procedures prepared by contractors.
- Develop and issue start-up sequences and procedures in coordination with engineering, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Update operating procedures and ensure alignment with vendor recommendations and commissioning sequence.
- Prepare specific procedures not covered by contractors and ensure clear interface management.
- Participate in workshops related to operational test procedures and review performance test plans.
- Support pre-start-up checks and assist during start-up execution, including risk analysis and planning.
- Report any unexpected events that may impact commissioning or start-up.
- Assist operations during stabilization and optimization phases.
HSE & Compliance:- Demonstrate exemplary HSE behavior and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure all commissioning and start-up activities are covered by well-prepared procedures and PTW systems.
Qualifications & Experience:- Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, with proven experience in large onshore and LNG plants.
- At least 5 years in a similar role with commissioning and start-up responsibilities.
Skills & Competencies:- Strong technical knowledge of operations, production, and LNG processes.
- Ability to prepare detailed procedures and optimize production parameters.
- Collaborative mindset, risk analysis skills, and adaptability.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
