Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to provide comprehensive IT support for our school environment. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's technology infrastructure, ensuring reliable access to hardware, software, networks, and digital tools for students, teachers, and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, with a focus on educational settings, and the ability to handle day-to-day technical issues while promoting a safe and effective learning environment.
This is a full-time position reporting to the School Administration or IT Coordinator.
#### Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to staff, teachers, and students, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues via in-person, phone, email, or remote assistance.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, interactive whiteboards), peripherals (printers, projectors), and software applications commonly used in education (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, learning management systems).
- Manage and maintain the school's network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, wired connections, servers, and firewalls, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including backups, software updates, antivirus management, and data security to comply with child protection and data privacy regulations.
- Set up and support audio-visual equipment for classrooms, assemblies, and events.
- Assist in the procurement, inventory, and deployment of new IT equipment and software.
- Train staff and students on the effective use of technology tools and best practices for digital safety.
- Monitor and enforce internet filtering and acceptable use policies to maintain a safe online environment.
- Document IT issues, resolutions, and procedures; maintain accurate records of assets and support tickets.
- Collaborate with external vendors for specialized repairs or advanced support when needed.
- Respond to emergency IT issues outside normal hours on an occasional basis.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT support, preferably in an educational institution, school district, or similar environment supporting multiple users.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Google Workspace, and common networking protocols.
- Experience with educational technologies such as learning platforms, interactive displays, and student devices (e.g., Chromebooks, iPads).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous; equivalent experience may substitute.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users (including children and educators).
- Commitment to child safeguarding, data privacy, and creating a positive technology experience in education.
- Successful background check required due to working in a school environment.
