Job Description – Structural Fabricator

Role Overview

The Structural Fabricator will be responsible for reading fabrication drawings, cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding structural steel components as per project specifications. The role demands strong technical skills in steel fabrication, attention to accuracy, and the ability to work safely in industrial environments. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in interpreting blueprints, performing quality checks, and delivering high-precision fabrication work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from structural fabrication drawings, blueprints, and isometric sketches.


  • Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel plates, beams, channels, and other structural materials.


  • Perform fabrication tasks including grinding, drilling, fitting, and tack welding.


  • Assemble structural steel components ensuring correct alignment, dimensions, and tolerances.


  • Utilize fabrication tools and machinery such as cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and bending machines.


  • Ensure joints and components are ready for welding as per project specifications.


  • Conduct quality checks on fabricated items to maintain accuracy and standards.


  • Follow safety procedures and use PPE while performing fabrication operations.


  • Coordinate with welders, supervisors, and engineers to complete fabrication tasks on time.


  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in good working condition.


Essential Qualifications
  • ITI / Diploma in Fabrication, Welding, Mechanical, or related trade.


  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication (GCC experience preferred).


  • Strong understanding of fabrication procedures and structural materials.


  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication / structural drawings accurately.


Skills Required
  • Proficiency in measuring and marking steel components with precision.


  • Skilled in gas cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and bending operations.


  • Basic welding knowledge (MIG/ARC) for tack and fit-up work.


  • Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and alignment techniques.


  • Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment, and safety procedures.


  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.


  • Teamwork, discipline, and ability to follow supervisor instructions.
