The Senior System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and performance. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices for compliance and disaster recovery.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Design, implement and maintain hardware components for key support systems and business applications.
· Administer and provision physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud platforms).
· Collaboratively work with network security, end user services, product & development, and governance teams for integrated solutions and any project requirements.
· Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
· Apply OS patches and security updates regularly.
· Monitor for vulnerabilities and implement remediation plans.
· Use monitoring tools to monitor IT Data Centre and ensure system health and uptime for proactive maintenance.
· Maintain backup schedules and test recovery procedures including DR drills.
· Respond to system outages and troubleshoot root causes.
· Maintain accurate system documentation and change logs.
Experience
· Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration.
· Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
· Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols.
· Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
· Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong documentation and communication abilities.
Skills
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
· 15+ years of Infrastructure & Operations professional experience.
· Minimum 10 years of experience in system administration.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, VMware Certified Professional).
· Aviation/Airline IT Infrastructure, architecture knowledge & experience will be considered as an added advantage.
