Sr. Production Geologist

Oman

Have active participation looking for solutions to field production problems, focused on searching geological answers to identify, quantify and understand the different mechanisms acting over reservoir performance. He/She is co-responsible to identify field development opportunities, with a full participation in the FDP preparation and execution. Responsible to bring to subsurface team the accurate geological analysis in order to quantifying uncertainties to risk in the decision-making process.  Monitor the execution of field operations and data delivery opportunely.  He/she should help on the reservoir characterization from structural and stratigraphic point of view, through interpretations and geological modeling, required to estimate field reserves, helping in the field understanding, and supporting opportunities to be included in the portfolio.

Position requires as deep understanding of Sequence Stratigraphy concepts, because stratigraphic framework and reservoir architecture should be developed below these concepts. Correlations should be validated with seismic, pressure data (MDT/XPT) and reservoir performance. Participate in the static geological model construction and updating. He/she is responsible for geological tops or picks, prepare well correlations, prepare sand mapping, make OOIP calculations, and support special studies for stress analysis, support sismo-stratigraphy studies. Support on the core descriptions and integrate to reservoir model characterization. Locate or prepare analogs for reservoir comprehension. It should be a technology-oriented person giving recommendations for new technology introduction to reduce geological uncertainties and improving reservoir understanding.
