Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

To supervise all Electrical aspects of construction works in the assigned area. Ensuring quality and safely execution. Adherence to Company technical standards, specifications, policies and procedures. Deliver as per the given project/s value drivers (HSE/Quality/Cost/Shedule/ICV).

To provide Electrical Engineering input and challenge the planning and scheduling of projects. Liason effectively with all internal and external stake holders. To coordinate with other disciplines in the project and solve all the interfaces with the assets owner as well as the other projects teams. Liason with Electrical functional discipline teams for any standards updates. Provide input and drive the continual improvement ideas.

Education & Experience

Degree in Electrical engineering with 4 years experience in engineering Design/Construction of oil/gas facilities. Incorporating project management, design, construction and commissioning. With at least 3 years spent as a Construction Site Engineer. Knowledge of other engineering disciplines outside of core discipline and conversant with International engineering standards, Good spoken/written English and PC literacy essential.

Main Responsibilities

Electrical Construction Engineer manages all construction activities pertaining to production facilities, infrastructure and well hook-ups. Responsible for monitoring the contractor resources and PDO supervision which are engaged in the construction and maintenance of the hydrocarbon production facilities to attain the project/s value drivers (HSE/Quality/Cost/Shedule/ICV).

Accountabilities Entail The Following

  • Participate in HSE risk assesments and ensuring self and contractors adherence to company HSE requirements and legal regulations. Drive HSE monitoring plans and behavioural based safety. Timely reporting of HSE matters.
  • Implement and ensure the agreed HSE and quality standards in all work activities. Actively promote HSE standards and awareness in contractor personnel, as well as participating in incidents investigations,surveys, inspections and audits. Follow up on close of identified actions.
  • Adherence to asset integrity safety management and flaw less project delivery.
  • Participate in reviews and management of Quality controls, adherence to Inspection test plan and audits. Timely reporting of Non confirmancies and follow up close out.
  • Participate in the reviews and approval of resource loaded L4 schedules and Dashboard; daily challenging the planning and scheduling process.
  • Liaise on a day-to-day basis with the area planner and the service contractor's representatives regarding work planning, job order packaging and priority setting so that PDO''s schedule requirements are met whilst still allowing the service contractors to achieve a balanced and even workload.
  • Advance planning and managing shutdown activities.
  • Drive and owner of visual management boards for the assigned project/s. Participate in improvement idea boards, leaning of processes and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in do ability meetings and monitor the resource loading/offloading of contractors.
