System Administrator

Job Purpose:

We’re seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to support our critical systems and assets, implement solutions, and work on challenging assignments. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their technical skills while contributing to the stability, security, and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.

This position will assist in supporting Windows &Linux environments ensuring stable and secure operations of business services. The role requires some understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.


Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Perform routine administration and support of operating systems, including Windows and Linux infrastructure
  • Monitor the health and performance of virtual servers, Citrix, Windows, and Linux infrastructure
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of system issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Support exchange server administration, mail flow troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux security patching solutions.
  • Coordinate IT Auditing, security and compliance requirements.
  • Manage group policies, Administering DHCP, DNS and security settings to ensure proper access control.
  • Address service requests within established SLAs, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Support incident response efforts, documenting and escalating issues as needed.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to observe system health and respond to alerts.
  • Assist with performance tuning tasks to optimize system performance.
  • Assist in implementing security measures following NBO policies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols, providing support during audits and assessments.
  • Participate in IT projects and infrastructure upgrades, including documentation of changes and new systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical certifications).
  • 1-2 years of experience in the administration, configuration, and support of Linux or Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Redhat Linux, or AIX Operating Systems.
  • Some experience or familiarity with VMware, Microsoft Directory Services, and email systems.
  • Familiarity with IT systems monitoring, and performance tools is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of storage systems and backup/recovery concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn new technologies and skills.
