Role Statement
Responsible for the effective and efficient assessment and monitoring of Credit Risk through pre-sanction and periodic review of Credit Applications
Principal Responsibilities
- To facilitate review process of credit proposal submitted to the credit risk unit by effective and efficient assessment and monitoring of Credit Risk through pre-sanction and periodic review of Credit Applications
- To assist in the initial review of credit proposal submitted from Business Units by ensuring compliance with bank’s policies as well as regulatory guidelines.
- To identify and highlight risk associated with the business operation and ensure proposed structure of facilities is justified.
- To review financials analysis, projections, cash flows, assumptions, debt servicing workout, projects progress monitoring and other financial data presented.
- To be jointly responsible with the Business Unit representatives for quality and integrity of proposals.
- Discuss with BU RMs/Credit Analyst and other Business Units of the Bank in order to facilitate proper structuring of facilities / security structure in order to minimize risks and maximize the bank's interests and image.
- Liaison with RCU to ensure accurate reflection in the CAs of security held and security required.
- Any additional work assigned by line manager or Head of Credit Risk/Risk Management.
- Prepare Quarterly reports for Executive Risk Committee and Executive Credit Committee meetings.
- Prepare Level 1 approvals report required for the Credit and Investment Committee (CIC) meeting.
Candidate Specifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or related major / ACCA / CFA.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Credit Risk Management or Corporate Banking.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, Moody’s/Credit Lense analytical etc.)
- Strong understanding of Credit analysis and policies.
- Good understanding of Risk Management principles.
- Good understanding of regulatory guidelines.
- Problem solving skills (Analytical thinking, quantitative, conceptual skills)
- Strong understanding of the changes in practices for the management of credit risk and regulatory requirements
- Capable of communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good time-management skills.
- Self-motivated and leadership attributes.
- People management and relationship skills.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, Moody’s/Credit Lense analytical etc.)
