Summary
The Assistant Manager - Pool Bar is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the two pool bars, ensuring excellent guest service, and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation in food and beverages. The role involves managing the bar team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving sales and profitability while enhancing the guest experience at the resort’s pool area.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pool bars, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area.
Ensure that all beverages are prepared according to Shangri-La’s standards and that presentation meets or exceeds guest expectations.
Provide a warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction at all times.
Address guest concerns and feedback promptly and effectively, striving to exceed expectations and improve guest loyalty.
Recruit, train, and manage the performance of bar staff, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.
Conduct regular training sessions on service standards, beverage preparation, and health and safety protocols to ensure the team is knowledgeable and compliant.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability, including upselling, promotions, and special events.
Monitor daily sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet financial targets.
Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure accurate record-keeping to minimize wastage and control costs.
Work with suppliers to order stock and negotiate favorable terms, ensuring a well-stocked bar with high-quality products.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on bar performance, including sales, costs, and guest feedback.
Maintain accurate employee records, including schedules, attendance, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mixologist or Bartender in a luxury hotel or high-end bar setting.
Strong knowledge of beverage trends, mixology techniques, and bar equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-oriented approach.
Ability to create unique and innovative beverages that appeal to a diverse clientele.
