Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and creative Interior Architect to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing interior architecture projects from concept to completion. This role involves creating detailed architectural drawings, ensuring the integration of interior spaces with the overall building design, and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept Development:
- Collaborate with clients to gather and understand their requirements, goals, and vision for the project.
- Develop innovative design concepts that enhance the functionality and aesthetics of interior spaces.
- Create concept sketches, mood boards, and design presentations for client approval.
- Technical Drawing Production:
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models, using CAD software.
- Develop comprehensive ID drawings for interior layouts, including space planning, lighting, furniture, and finishes.
- Ensure all drawings are precise, accurate, and adhere to building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of interior elements with the buildings architecture.
- Conduct site visits to oversee the implementation of designs, ensuring that the construction aligns with the approved drawings.
- Address any design or construction issues that arise during the project and make necessary adjustments to drawings.
- Material Selection Specification:
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that align with the projects design concept and budget.
- Prepare material specifications and ensure all selections meet the required quality and sustainability standards.
- Client Interaction:
- Present design concepts, detailed drawings, and material selections to clients for feedback and approval.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the project to manage expectations and provide updates.
- Adjust designs based on client feedback while providing professional guidance on design decisions.
- Compliance Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Perform quality control checks on drawings and construction work to maintain high standards throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Interior Architecture or Architecture
- 3+ years of experience in interior architecture or architectural design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Solid understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, and construction processes.
- Strong technical drawing skills and an eye for detail.
- Excellent spatial planning and design skills, with a focus on functionality and aesthetics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional licensure or certification (e.g., NCARB, CID, or equivalent).
- Experience in designing commercial, residential, or hospitality interiors.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED accreditation.
