Production Manager

Position Overview:

The Production Manager will oversee the entire production process within the newly developed fisheries operations in Oman both on leased and newly built production plants. This role focuses on optimizing output, ensuring the efficiency of operations, and maintaining high product quality. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, selecting and hiring of personnel technology implementation certification and quality control, equipment selection, recipe management, warehousing, procurement, ice production, temperature control, and overall operational control to ensure the smooth running of the fisheries complex.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Optimization:

  • Develop and execute production plans aligned with the project’s objectives of increasing output, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and align production plans and resources with Fleet Management
  • Monitor and adjust production workflows to optimize efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Ensure that production processes meet both internal and regulatory standards,
  1. Work with new production plant development team in order to ensure optimal and cost efficient production facility project elaboration.
  2. Manage production personnel, plan engagement, ensure task distribution, improve professionalism of the production team.

Technology Integration:

  • Oversee the implementation and use of new technologies to improve production processes.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fisheries production technologies and assess their applicability to operations.
  • Train production staff on the use of technology to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Analyze production data, assess performance indicators and timely implement improvements based on data received.

Recipe Management:

  • Manage and maintain production recipes for various seafood products, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to refine recipes based on market demand and feedback.
  • Ensure recipe compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Warehousing & Inventory Control:

  • Manage warehousing operations to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for storage and handling.
  • Work in coordination with logistics manager ensuring smooth flow of production materials and products.

Procurement:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source raw materials and ensure timely delivery for uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor and manage supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective procurement without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of production materials, including ice and packaging.
  • Manage raw material supply process in coordination with internal and external sources.


Operation Control:

  • Supervise the overall production operations, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Implement control systems to monitor production performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including HACCP and ISO certifications, FDA and CFIA, establish SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and GHP (Good Hygiene Practices)
  • Manage inventory and ensure proper usage of machinery and equipment.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure that all production processes adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any issues in the production process.
  • Maintain documentation for quality assurance and regulatory audits.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and manage the production team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the production department.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained in safety protocols,operational procedures, and sanitation standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in production management, preferably in the fisheries, aquaculture, or food production industries.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, including technology integration, recipe management, and warehousing operations.
  • Knowledge of ice production, temperature control, and procurement in a food production environment.
  • Experience in managing operations in compliance with HACCP and ISO quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process optimization.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
