Job Purpose:

The Network Administrator manages and maintains the Bank’s computer networks and cloud networking. He/ She ensures network security install and configures network hardware and software, and troubleshoot network problems. The Network Administrator implements and maintains security technologies processes to enhance the overall security posture of the Bank’s network infrastructure.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and deploys network architectures, including hardware, software, and communication links (LAN and WAN), while planning for future expansions and upgrades.
  • Works with cloud providers to understand various deployment models, planning and designing secure and scalable network architectures within those models.
  • Regularly performs network maintenance tasks, such as checking for network updates, conducting health checks, and resolving any arising issues.
  • Manages the cloud providers in troubleshooting and maintaining networks.
  • Ensures all critical external links are up and running according to SLAs and OLAs.
  • Implements and manages security measures to protect data, software, and hardware, including managing firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems both on-premises and in virtual cloud environments.
  • Works with the Information Security team in developing and enforcing the agreed-upon security policies.
  • Monitors network performance to determine if adjustments are needed. Responds to network connectivity issues promptly and resolves them. Ensures optimal availability and continuity of network resources for end users in the cloud.
  • Strives to automate routine tasks as much as possible to ensure continuous operations and compliance.
  • Provides technical support to network users, which includes training staff in new hardware or software as needed.
  • Maintains network documentation, including diagrams of the network's layout, IP address schemes, and configuration information.
  • Coordinates with vendors to secure network products and services.
  • Implements and oversees backup and disaster recovery solutions.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Networks with a Bank.
  • CCNA, CCNP, Network+ , Cloud Computing Virtual Networks or related certification is desired.
  • Hands on experience with Cloud Services and Virtualization Technologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud service models such as: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, deployment models, and major cloud providers (preferably OCI, etc.) is preferred.
  • Exposure to Office 365 implementation.
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF.
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Knowledge and experience of major network and enterprise IT monitoring tools, scripting skills using common scripting languages is desired.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems such as JUNOS, CISCO, IOS, Fort iOS.
  • Hands-on experience with networking hardware Routers, Switches, Firewalls, etc.
  • Good project management and service management skills with certification in industry frameworks like ITIL etc.
