Role Objective

The Auditor – Investigation and Admin plays a crucial role in supporting Oman Air's transformation by ensuring the integrity,

efficiency, and effectiveness of the organization's systems, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies. The

auditor will be responsible to plan, execute, and develop report of investigation audits assigned by the Internal Audit Vice

President. The Auditor must uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity, safeguarding sensitive information

while conducting the investigation audits. Additionally, the role includes managing audit resources efficiently, developing

staff capabilities, and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities

Audit Operations

• Identify and prioritize investigation assignments, assigned by the Internal Audit Vice President, based on potential risk, impact, and management requests.

• Collaborate with concerned management and the Internal Audit Vice President to develop the terms of reference for

each investigation assignment, ensuring clear objectives, scope, and methodologies based on the available information and identified risks.

• In support of the concerned auditors, conduct thorough investigations into financial, operational, and compliance

issues by gathering and analyzing evidence to identify root causes and assess the impact of findings.

• Collect, analyze, and carefully examine relevant data, documents, and information essential for audit and developing the audit opinion to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the audit process.

• Evaluate internal controls and processes to identify weaknesses, risks, and inefficiencies.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements during investigations.

• Prepare detailed reports of investigation findings with clear recommendations for corrective actions. Collaborate with the Internal Audit Vice President to review and issue the report to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

• Effectively and promptly communicate investigation results to senior management and relevant stakeholders, ensuring that findings and recommendations are clearly articulated and actionable.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with departments to facilitate information exchange and support investigations.

• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved and controls are strengthened.

• Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of all investigation-related information and documentation.

• Provide guidance and training to audit staff involved in investigations, enhancing their skills and competencies.

• Stay informed of emerging risks, trends, and best practices in internal investigations to continuously improve methodologies and effectiveness.

Risk Assessment:

• Identify potential risks and recommend control improvements to mitigate them effectively, aiming to safeguard the organization's assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity.

• Monitor and assess changes in the business environment to adapt audit plans accordingly.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact the organization to proactively address compliance requirements and mitigate potential risks.

Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

• Provide guidance and support to business units in maintaining compliance.

• Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs to establish robust controls, promote ethical behavior, and mitigate compliance risks.

• Track the implementation of audit recommendations and provide periodic updates to management on the status of corrective actions to ensure that identified issues are effectively addressed and risks are mitigated.

Documentation:

• Maintain well-organized and thorough audit files and evidence for future reference to facilitate transparency, accountability, and the ability to provide evidence of audit activities.

• Ensure that audit documentations are accurate, complete, and in compliance with audit standards.

• Prepare clear and concise audit reports, highlighting findings, recommendations, and action plans for management's review and follow-up to enable informed decision-making, promote accountability, and drive continuous improvement.

Department Administration:

• On a quarterly basis, follow up on audit findings and recommendations by coordinating with management to ensure that corrective actions are implemented effectively and within the specified timelines. Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders to keep them informed of the status and resolution of each issue.

• Organize and manage travel arrangements for audit staff during outstation audit visits, including booking accommodations, transportation, and handling visa requirements, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and budget constraints.

• Oversee the administration of contracts related to internal audit services, including handling renewals, amendments, and compliance monitoring to ensure all agreements meet the departments and organization’s requirements.

• Assist the Internal Audit Vice President in preparing the audit committee presentation, drafting minutes of meetings, and compiling communication packs on a quarterly basis, ensuring all materials are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with organizational standards.

• Act as a liaison between the internal audit department and other management teams, facilitating effective communication, coordinating administrative tasks, and supporting the department's strategic initiatives and goals.


Education & Experience

➢ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Postgraduate degree will be an asset.

➢ Professional qualifications: - Certified Internal Auditor (‘CIA’) or Certified Fraud

Examiner (‘CFE’) or Chartered Professional Qualifications (CPA / CA / CA Finalist / ACCA

/ ICMA / CIMA) is highly preferable.

➢ 2+ years of experience in an Internal Audit role, experience in the airline industry will be preferred.

➢ Proven experience in internal auditing, risk management, or related fields.

➢ Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.

➢ Strong ethical conduct with dedication to maintaining ethical standards across all compliance matters and adhering to the aviation industry laws and Code of Conduct.


Special Skills & Knowledge

➢ Proficiency in MS Office.

➢ Ability to adhere / maintain office confidentiality.

➢ High Customer Service orientation with excellent communication skills.

➢ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while also managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

➢ Knowledge of IATA rules and regulations.

➢ Good Team Management Skills.

➢ Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (preferred).
