What do we want from you?

We’re looking for someone with tenacity, a positive attitude, boundless energy and some Hotel Indigo swagger. You'll be an integral member of the hotel’s management team, providing expertise and direction in all aspects of sales and marketing. You will develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the hotel, create and implement tactical plans and ensure our revenue goals are achieved.

You'll report directly to the General Manager and supervise the Sales, Revenue, Public Relations and Marketing team. Maintaining Company Brand Standards, performing Market Analysis and the planning plus the development and implementation of promotional strategies and marketing plans.

Ideally, you'll have a Bachelors' degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years post graduate work experience or 6 years Sales & Marketing experience, coupled with excellent communications skills, tactical marketing, e-Commerce, and presentation skills; good written & oral proficiency in English and preferably another international language.

Your day to day

FINANCIALS :

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals maximizing profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, hotel marketing plan and business plan, plus financial plans.
  • Create and implement sales and marketing plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage, wellness, and incentive sales.
  • Review monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
  • Create and develop events and sales blitzes to showcase the hotel to potential clients. Attend trade shows and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales and marketing opportunities for the hotel.

PEOPLE:

  • Direct day-to-day sales activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for the team. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognize good performance.
  • Educate, train, and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve hotel revenue goals. Ensure staff have the information, market data, tools, and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts (example: guests, airliners, wholesalers, travel agencies, ad agencies, local community groups) to produce group and/or incentive business, to include room sales, food and beverage sales, wellness sales and catering/banquets.

MARKETING

  • Drive creative marketing campaigns that position the property as a lifestyle destination through print and digital channels and drive our Hotel Indigo® spirit.
  • Set and drive media impression targets with the appointed PR Agency.
  • Liaise with the appointed graphic design company to position the property through creative media and campaigns.
  • Lead photography/videography requirements for the property, co-ordinating with the various stakeholders and departments to ensure the best possible photographic outcomes. Including pre site recces, storyboards, agreed and planned image goals.
  • Lead and continually evolve the property’s social media channels ensuring content, stories and imagery drive our lifestyle experience goals.

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

  • Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, wellness experiences and facility information) to enhance the guest experience.
  • Schedule incentives and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the Sales Office and prospective clients.
  • Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIPs, large groups, and other key guests.
  • Lead marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:

  • Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions.
  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community; may serve as the hotel representative for media-related inquiries.
  • Work closely with key business leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups within the city to ensure constant high-profile exposure for the hotel.
  • Effectively communicate and market aspects of the hotel that are sustainable or “green” and use information to gain new business opportunities.
  • Work with advertising agencies, consulting firms, and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure ads represent brand identity.
  • Work with the team to drive CSR projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager-on-duty
