Manager - Financial Systems and Automation

Role Objective

The Financial Systems and Automation Manager is responsible for managing the implementation and proper functioning of all systems applications where the Finance function is impacted including identifying strategies for further process improvement and automation. This role is crucial in supporting the finance department to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting through strong collaboration with other departments. Furthermore, the Financial Systems and Automation Manager supports with the adoption and update of policies and procedures relating to system accesses to ensure accurate financial information processing.


General Responsibilities

1. Manage the implementation and smooth functioning of all systems for the finance department (e.g., ERPs, etc.) in line with service level agreements.

2. Prepare a detailed plan of key tasks /activities / initiatives, along with priorities & implementation dates, with cost and benefits analysis / business case to get the budget approval from management.

3. Periodic update to management on automation projects progress, key milestones and challenges with solution oriented mindset.

4. Support the team in closing IT related internal and external audit observations.

5. Coordinate with Financial Reporting, Accounting, Treasury and Planning teams to make the process /reporting lean and automated without compromising control.

6. On time response to stakeholder’s emails and requests without significant delays and inform the management in time in case of any delays or unusual events.

7. Oversee all system maintenance, user access/permission and debugging including investigating and resolving all datarelated issues / transactions.

8. Manage and support the financial department users with any system issues.

9. Identify opportunities to enhance automation, reporting and data analysis.

10. Support in drafting/enhancing Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and/or user guides to support users in mastering the financial applications.

11. Provide periodic financial analysis and insights to the management to support decision-making.

12. Work with a specialized advisor to update the Systems and UI/UX.

13. Collaborate with all internal stakeholders and the IT teams to optimize financial systems.

14. Work closely with the all internal stakeholders, digital, data and IT department to update the systems impacting the Finance function ensuring processes, automation and controls are optimised.

15. Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

16. Act as a consultant working closely with all finance departments to understand the business requirements and recommend system solutions that respond to those needs.

17. Provide constructive feedback and performance reviews to the team members to support their professional development and ensure proper succession planning.

Education & Experience

➢ 8+ years of technology, financial or accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role within the aviation industry (mandatory)

➢ Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance or accounting (mandatory). Post-graduate degree/accreditation such as MBA is a plus.

➢ Experience working with financial systems including ERPs with proven knowledge of financial processes, workflows, financial software and automation tools.

➢ Strong ethical conduct with dedication to maintaining ethical standards across all corporate matters and adhering to the aviation industry laws and Code of Conduct.

➢ Demonstrated outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

➢ Strong organizational and time-management skills.


Special Skills & Knowledge

➢ Strong financial systems and automation acumen including familiarity in managing such systems within the aviation industry.

➢ Proven track record of automating financial systems/processes and generating cost savings and increased efficiency.

➢ Experience analysis and reporting data including driving actionable insights.

➢ Knowledge complying with data security and data protection regulations.

➢ Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

➢ Deep business knowledge, strategic thinking and ability to derive financial insights for decision making.
