Job Purpose

Execute end to end legal Corporate Governance assigned tasks within Alternative Energy sector, under VP Legal Alternative Energy scope, in a progression that encompasses more responsibilities according to level of incumbent, to promote / align and ensure Legal Corporate Governance standards for all streams and its relations with critical issues; to ensure OQAE’s Legal Compliance.

The position will act in accordance with the OQAE’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

The Specialist Legal should have substantial experience in this Alternative Energy/Energy industry. They understand the nuances of renewable energy , oil and gas operations, regulations, and commercial dynamics.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned tasks such as corporate reporting, board minutes, fillings, shareholder resolutions, and government legal relationships.
  • Support the Identification and definition of the strategic objectives for Corporate Governance issues / frame at OQAE in the medium and long term, by analyzing the Legal, economic and technological environment which is subject, their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and availability of appropriate resources, through of the hierarchizing of the portfolio of opportunities
  • Review, interpret, draft and/or negotiate a variety of policies and commercial contracts, including software license agreements, partner agreements.
  • Provide timely and practical legal advice to management in respect of complex, multi-jurisdictional information technology and digital transformation projects and will liaise with Company affiliates in respect of the same and will have well developed project management skills to ensure close coordination of legal and commercial work streams.
  • May serve as the corporate secretary, organizing and managing board meetings, and advising as to board authority and corporate governance matters. You will advise as to shareholder issues and manage the interface between the entity, the parent, and other affiliates.

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualification required is a Bachelor’s in law

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)
