Senior Manager, Liabilities – Transaction Banking

Job Purpose:


To drive Liabilities Business( Current account, Call Account, Saving Accounts and Deposits) - The primary work for this position will include enhancing CASA/Deposit base of the Bank to support Bank's lending growth and improve deposit mix through various initiatives and strategies for corporates.


Responsibilities:


  • To increase new/variation Liabilities based products parallel to Bank’s strategy and vision/mission
  • Oversee performance & strategies of existing products based on the market demand and regulatory compliance requirement of Bank and continuously improve processes of product delivery for Liabilities products.
  • To oversee the product performance and manage product expectation for Liabilities based products
  • Leading product delivery enhancement initiatives and refresh existing products.
  • Oversee the BN Liabilities portfolio to be in line with strategy.
  • Oversee and deliver all liabilities campaigns to meet necessary set KPI.
  • Ensure that margins are not compressed in order to meet the product KPI’s for Liabilities based products year to year.
  • To ensure the product and pricing an objective of improving profitability of liabilities based products.
  • Clear sight on Liabilities Product Balance sheet composition
  • Managing periodic product reviews to ensure ongoing product compliance with central bank and internal bank policy requirements.
  • Introduce new systems/tools to improve procedures/processes and provide excellent services/supports.
  • Prepare product guidelines, training and information materials to support new product launches, product enhancement or campaigns.
  • Work closely with the respective stakeholders concerning launch and coordination of the products.
  • Building buy-in from key stakeholders such as, legal, Shariah, compliance, operations, IT, credit, marketing and sales to ensure seamless product launch and on-going operation.
  • Maintains working relationship between various stakeholders while ensuring due observance to the BN Internal Control Standards.
  • To provide guidance and share knowledge with other team members from a product perspective to create a cohesive productive working environment.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure objectives are met based on set KPI’s.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance / audit requirements and implementation of Group Compliance policies.
  • Responsible for the management/sourcing of CASA/Deposits.
  • To manage within the approved methodology time scale and budget, meeting standards for Audit, Control and financial reporting.
  • Identify business opportunities or weakness for Cash products. Keeping updated with dynamic business environment for new opportunities, to present this annually.
  • To identify and translate market opportunities into enhancement of existing products, in order to generate a profitable business. Includes demonstration of business cases for products, defining features and functionality, P&L projections, and changes required to internal operations and delivery.
  • To establish and implement competitive pricing policies and tariff structure to maximize product profitability and shareholder value.
  • Monitor overall service standards, maintain good relationship to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition.
  • To plan new product launches, as required, with Business Development, to ensure that new products meet planned revenue and volume targets and / or develop strategies / tactics to gain market share and grow liabilities (CASA Balances/low cost liabilities) through new products and existing services.
  • To monitor competitor banks in markets of responsibility. Keep up to date of their new product offerings / service developments, assess the threat to our business and plan remedial action to maintain a competitive edge.
  • To maintain high level of customer contact through, customer workshops, focus groups, client calls, and product and concept research to ensure feedback is gained on product offerings, and modifications made as appropriate.
  • To provide training and ongoing support to business.
  • To provide technical assistance to facilitate the closure of large / complex deals.
  • Co-ordinate with Marketing and local business areas for the commercial launch of new products, or re-launch of existing products.
  • Monitor against budgeted revenue forecasts, highlight underperforming products /areas and advise with a plan.
  • Maintain the product programs database as per zero tolerance guidelines.
  • Support bank's product initiatives and campaigns.


Educational Background:


  • Minimum Bachelor degree in a related discipline (including engineering).


Experience:


  • Minimum of 9 years of banking experience with accredited certifications and experience in corporate banking and transaction banking


Professional Qualification:


  • Accredited certifications in related areas


Skills & Knowledge:


  • Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Conduct negotiations.
  • High communication skills.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking and transaction banking products.
  • Understanding of the Banking environment would also be hugely beneficial to this role.
  • Knowledge of the cash management services and their features, applications and potential improvements.
  • In depth knowledge of the markets: their features, customers and competitors.
  • Competency at managing a highly varied customer and product base across diverse markets.
  • Knowledge of the Banks' back office systems. Managing systems/development resources.
  • Cultural awareness.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Ability to keep updated of changes in the markets, customer requirements, competitors' responses and the Bank's abilities and to use this information to identify new business
