Overview of the role:

The primary focus of this role is to carry out dealership service on customer vehicles as per company standards, ensuring optimum quality with increased productivity and technical efficiency, thereby contributing to generate workshop revenue. Repair and maintain vehicles within the Volvo standard timeframe, following the Volvo service process, communicating effectively with customers, and using Volvo systems correctly.


What you will do:  

•   Work in a safe and sustainable way applying Volvo 5s principles

•   Directly communicating with customers to understand precisely the repairs and diagnostics required to satisfactorily meet their expectations

•   Plan own work in VIDA assembling the task using CSC codes, Operation codes, VST and following service schedules

•   Repair the vehicle to Volvo’s standard using the correct tools and the Volvo Standard Text (VST) always with the objective to work within the specified repair times

•   Contribute to improving customer satisfaction and the business performance objectives by attending the daily team meeting and highlighting problem areas that prevent the achievement of sales or customer satisfaction targets

•   Be able to open a job card through VIDA, obtain authorization for additional work, cost and invoice. Submit and retrieve the job from the DMS through VIDA

•   Prove in depth understanding of the Volvo warranty policy

•   Possess the required Volvo competency, skill and certification required of a (PST)

•   Achieve the Volvo Grade/Level certification and complete new product training as and when released

•   Achieve your contribution in the team to help exceed or meet the departments overall sales and customer satisfaction targets

•   Demonstrate ability to navigate the Volvo Cars Performance Academy website, complete online training, follow own development progress and request training

•   demonstrate connecting cars through Wi-Fi to VIDA, check vehicle history, find and link correct CSC codes to a task, link DTC’s to CSC codes, navigate and use Menu Pricing, follow onscreen repair procedures or schedules, request and download software and use VST time operation codes. Submission and retrieval from DMS

•   Demonstrate the use of the Technical Information Reference Portal, access technical information and stay up to date with system and component functions

•   Use the technical information exchange system, to upload identified fault patterns and to request support

•   Perform required repairs as per the manufacturer's standards and confirm that the repairs are fixed correctly in FRFT manner

•   Ensure relevant check sheets/ log sheets are used during diagnosing and repair and follow the procedure

•   Understand and work according to Volvo service process

•   Competently assemble repair tasks that link repair operation codes and parts to a job card that will be used to guide your time limit per repair

•   Demonstrate an understanding of the warranty policy, the QW90 claims procedure and the warranty store requirements

 You will be working in a dynamic and fast paced environment reporting to the Aftersales manager.

 

What equips you for the role:

•   ITI/ Automobile diploma or Engineering qualification

•   5 years’ experience as a Senior Diagnostic Technician

•   Experience with an Automotive dealership 

•   Volvo PST certification is a plus
