Basic Function


Developing and Producing Reservoirs Optimally by:


  • Supporting the production and subsurface aspects of reservoir management and development activities for all the company’s assets.
  • Responsible for performing reservoir engineering scope of work – analyze field data, perform wells and reservoirs studies to define optimum depletion mechanism and development strategy for optimizing production and maximizing the value of the asset.

Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties


  • Preparation of robust production forecast,
  • Production enhancement activities
  • Well/reservoir surveillance activities
  • Reservoir management and depletion plan
  • Reserves evaluation and field development plan

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence Level


  • Key technical contributor with suitable experience in reservoir development and subsurface integration.
  • Strong background and hands-on in classical reservoir engineering techniques and methods
  • Skilled in reservoir simulation
  • Experienced in PVT sampling and analysis
  • Knowledgeable in Pressure transient analysis (PTA)
  • Competent in data integration and reservoir management
  • Work with subsurface uncertainty and managing its impact on project is essential.
  • Plan and adapt work programs to business needs.
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team (geologists, production technologists, petrophysicists, drilling engineers etc.) to create integrated products and broad understanding.
  • Communicate effectively results and interpretations to management and partners.
  • Actively seeks and applies expertise and opportunities from the external environment.
  • Bias for action - does things before being asked to or forced to by events
  • Mentoring junior team.
  • Provides technical quality assurance as required.
  • Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Minimum of 9 years relevant experience in reservoir engineering
  • BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering; MSc preferred.
  • Current or previous experience working in Oman or Saudi Arabia.
  • Clastic and Carbonate development experience
  • Experience in the redevelopment of brownfield through IOR and/or EOR techniques
  • Experience in the preparation of the Field Development Plan (FDP) documentation for review and approval by the respective stakeholders
  • Advanced user in reservoir simulation software with Petrel (Eclipse 100, 300, 400), Intersect and tNavigator and CMG with hands-on experience within the last two years.
  • Experience in GAP, PROSPER and MBAL
  • Knowledge of Excel, VBA beneficial

Travel Requirements


  • Position does require eventual travel to the field to supervise critical operations. Company will arrange all matters related to field trip visits or work.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Must possess adequate physical conditions to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, etc.) stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone/videoconference.
