Senior Sales Manager - FI Relationships Credit Oman | Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

The Opportunity We are seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead the commercial side of the credit insurance business and Financial Institutions (FIs) relationships. The successful candidate will drive top-line growth, manage strategic relationships with Omani exporting companies, and serve as a key point of contact for banks and financial institutions providing export-related lending to our policyholders. This is a senior, high-visibility role reporting to executive management, with full responsibility for the sales strategy, pipeline, and revenue performance of the company.


Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales Department to consistently meet and exceed annual premium income targets.
  • Design and execute the company's sales strategy across sectors and client segments.
  • Build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and oversee the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and underwriting coordination to policy issuance and renewal.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and exporter sentiment to refine commercial propositions.

Client Relationship Management (Exporters)

  • Manage and grow relationships with Omani exporting companies across key sectors (manufacturing, Mining, Agriculture & Fisheries, food & beverage, Renewable Energy, petrochemicals, logistics, SMEs, and others).
  • Act as a trusted advisor to exporters, helping them understand and adopt credit insurance as a tool for safer growth into international markets.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, training sessions, and awareness workshops on trade credit insurance and risk mitigation.

Banking & Financial Institution Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with banks, financing companies, and other financial institutions that provide export-related lending to Omani exporters.
  • Promote the use of Credit Oman policies as collateral and risk-mitigation instruments for export finance facilities.
  • Coordinate joint marketing initiatives, referral programs, and structured solutions with banking partners.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with the Underwriting, Claims, and Risk teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Provide market and client feedback for product development and management.
  • Represent Credit Oman in industry events, exporter forums, chambers of commerce activities, and government-led trade missions.

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare regular sales performance reports, forecasts, and management presentations.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and underwriting guidelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in business administration, Finance, Insurance, Economics, International Trade, or a related discipline. A master s degree (MBA) or professional qualification (CII, ACII, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, corporate relationships, and business development, with at least 5 years managerial level in credit insurance, trade finance, corporate banking, or commercial insurance.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering against ambitious commercial targets.
  • Strong existing network within Oman's exporter community and/or local banking and financial sector is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of trade credit insurance products, export finance, letters of credit, factoring, and international trade mechanics.
  • Familiarity with the Omani and GCC regulatory and business environment.

Skills & Attributes

  • Adequate commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex insurance and finance concepts into clear value propositions for clients.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills at C-suite and board level.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial statements, credit risk indicators, and market data.
