Role Description(Omani candidates only)
Qualifications & Experience Required
 Master’s degree in library sciences with a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years’ experience at college/university level. Strong proficiency in Arabic & English (communication and interpersonal skills). Demonstrated people management experience. Strong organizational, planning, and administrative skills. Relevant computer proficiency, including experience with Library Management Systems. Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative departments.

Key Responsibilities Library Leadership & Management Lead, guide, and supervise library staff, including involvement in recruitment, training, duty schedules, performance reviews, and goal setting in coordination with HR and the Line Manager. Represent the Library in various college committees and boards, including coordinating and conducting Library Working Group meetings and ensuring follow-up on recommendations. Chair the Library Advisory Committee (LAC) and coordinate actions with the Management. Planning, KPIs & Reporting Prepare and review the Departmental Operational Plan (DOP) and ensure achievement of KPIs. Prepare and submit semester reports on library functions, KPI progress, and DOP performance to the Academic Affairs Committee. Use library statistics and reports for continuous improvement and evidence-based planning. Resource Management & Development Plan, evaluate, and ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of module learning resources for all programmes. Manage the quality and relevance of books, journals, e-resources, and learning materials. Coordinate procurement, subscriptions, and acquisitions of print and digital resources in close collaboration with academic and administrative departments. Oversee inventory control, record keeping, invoices, and account-related documentation. Select and recommend library furniture, equipment, and resources for acquisition. Library Services & Operations Ensure proper circulation, maintenance, and organization of print and non-print materials. Provide orientation and training to academic staff on available resources. Maintain safe, accurate, and updated library records and inventories. Ensure high satisfaction of library users (students & staff) by collecting and responding to feedback. Liaison & Coordination Liaise with internal departments, external organizations, vendors, and suppliers as needed. Establish and maintain resource-sharing programs such as interlibrary loans and collaboration with libraries in Muscat and abroad. Risk Management Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and ensure continuity and compliance in library operations. Professional Development Maintain up-to-date knowledge of library practices, technologies, and procedures.
