The Project

As part of its 2040 strategy to promote cultural and artistic innovations. A state-of-the-art centre for arts and culture is being built. Under one roof the centre will include facilities such as F&B outlets, cinema, and art clubs.

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior commercial manager to join our established and growing team in Oman.

Client Focus - Deliver On Our Promise

  • Play a key role in the performance of all operations from a commercial and financial perspective.
  • Monitoring financial performance, financial analysis (including trend analysis) and preparing project performance reports and recommendations for the executive team.
  • Supervising the implementation of and adherence to the commercial management plan, subcontract management plant and project risk management plan.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and keeping relevant parties informed on the timeliness, cost, revenue, risk, progress, and performance of the project.
  • Liaising with the construction team to ensure commercial processes and operations are as effective, efficient, and transparent as possible.
  • Play a key role in the procurement and commercial structure/framework for the project.
  • Monitoring the subcontractor and supply agreement process.
  • Monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures in relation to legal, financial and administration matters - the standard of internal control and policies.
  • Setting direction and providing clear and timely feedback to direct reports on their performance.
  • Manages & provides leadership to a team of Managers and Professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools / capabilities, and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and deliver excellence.
  • Addresses subcontractor contractual claims and change.
  • Assist in the production of monthly client applications.
  • Approves invoices and issues IPCs.
  • Drafts necessary notices and contractual correspondence.
  • Commercially manages design consultants and specialist fees.
  • Ensures site team acts with in commercial and legal procedures and agreements.
  • Communicates with clients and contractors.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Extensive experience in commercial management.
  • Cultural project experience preferred.
  • Is familiar with the main rules of measurement.
  • Has a background high value/complex project.
  • Has a strong working knowledge of the FIDIC suite of construction contracts.
  • Has a strong working knowledge of design & build.
  • Has a strong background in contract administration.
  • Creates an inclusive work environment based on trust and respect. Mentors and coaches team members to develop their careers.
  • Can earn the trust and respect of colleagues.
  • Has effective communication skills – strong in oral and written English is essential.
  • Acts with the highest standards of integrity and makes safety a priority and ensures the same for the team.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with all management levels.

You’ll Also Need

  • Bachelor of science in quantity surveying (or equivalent) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or university.
  • MRICS.
  • Other professional memberships are an advantage but not essential.
