Our client specializes in both internal and external investments within the fisheries and agriculture sectors, and is seeking a candidate to take on a pivotal role in driving direct investments and fostering value creation for their portfolio companies. This role will involve actively identifying and executing investment opportunities while supporting the growth and development of investee companies, both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing the performance of these companies, optimizing their operations, and expanding their market presence, ensuring long-term success and value generation across the portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to drive business growth by contributing to investment origination, execution, and asset management.
  • Support investment origination by conducting industry and company research, helping to identify potential investment themes, identifying promising investment targets, and building sector knowledge and networks over time.
  • Assist in the development of investment theses and risk assessments alongside the team.
  • Lead the execution of smaller co-investments or significant workstreams for larger, complex deals, conducting independent research on market conditions, competitive analysis, regulatory trends, and financial performance.
  • Develop complex financial models for a range of deal opportunities, including minority investments and leveraged buyout transactions.
  • Manage relationships with third-party advisors when necessary to gain insights during due diligence. Collaborate with company management to uncover unique investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the investment recommendation and approval process by drafting investment proposals, presenting to the Board of Directors, and addressing their questions.
  • Assist in the negotiation and execution of transaction-related agreements and legal documents.
  • Help manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, such as investment partners, advisors, and vendors.
  • Support the assessment of potential exit strategies for portfolio companies.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Investment, Business, Economics, or Finance from a reputable business school is preferred.
  • An MBA, advanced degree, or relevant professional qualification is highly desirable.


Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, strategic consulting, or related fields (private equity experience preferred).
