About the Role
Chef Middle East is looking for a skilled and efficient Financial Controller in Oman to support the business with day-to-day finance activities and contribute to the efficient management of finance and accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Local and Overseas supplier invoice booking
- Customs Duty & other import charges Invoice Booking and Payment
- All Inventory transactions - GL entry postings (Including IJV & Repacking)
- General accounting work, filing and daily operational activities
- Ensure all purchase returns and claims are booked in a timely manner
- Booking and reconciling credit card/E-dirham cards and IOU settlement of staff
- Supplier related claims and accruals booking and reconcile it at balance sheet level
- Online booking and payments of utility bills
- Reconcile vendor accounts monthly
- Ensures files are indexed, verified, and available in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations
- Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary in his/her own capabilities
- Handle petty cash and book expenses as and when requested
- Verifying payments and ensuring all control perspectives are met
- Ensure accurate posting of accounting entries and maintaining fixed asset register
- Preparation of Tax returns and ensuring all entries reconciles to the trial balance (VAT, Corporate TAX)
- Prepare and validate monthly payroll
- Management of Vendor and customer rebates to ensure they are recorded correctly, and the rebate amounts are collected in due time
- Ensuring all Month end planning with respect to accounts closing and adhere to timelines
- Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
- Supervising insurance workings while renewing policies and ensuring monthly declarations are send to insurance companies in time
- Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and ensure on-time submission to Treasury
- Support banking limits, and other treasury and banking functions
- Will be custodian of confidential company contracts
- Plan and co-ordinate with external auditors in closing the audit for the group as per pre-defined timelines
- Any ad-hoc projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance & Managerial Accounting or equivalent degrees
- Minimum of 10 years post qualification
- Technically knowledgeable about IFRS and the application of policy
- MS office proficient; ERP experience
