- Oversee and supervise MEP installation activities on-site, ensuring the work is carried out according to design specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards.
- Ensure that all work is being executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Liaise with other site engineers (civil, structural, and architectural) to ensure smooth coordination of MEP installations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
- Ensure quality control standards are met during the installation and testing of all MEP systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify that work is progressing as per the project schedule.
- Ensure all work is compliant with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Supervise the installation of mechanical systems (HVAC, ventilation), electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarms), and plumbing systems (water, drainage, sewage).
- Ensure all systems are tested and commissioned properly before handover.
- Prepare and maintain daily site reports, including work progress, challenges, and any changes in scope.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and compliance documents.
- Report to the project manager or senior MEP engineer on site progress and issues.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on-site, ensuring all team members and contractors adhere to safety guidelines.
- Ensure all MEP works are carried out in a safe manner with proper risk assessments and preventive measures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or challenges that arise during the installation process.
- Work closely with the design team to address any design discrepancies or modifications.
- Participate in the final inspection and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Ensure all documentation for system handover is completed, including warranties, manuals, and as-built drawings.
