JOB PURPOSE:
To provide IT consultancy to business stakeholders and end-users on IT service delivery; support for country IT application deployments; process & technical gap analysis, application support; general technical support; requirements definition and reviews; system testing; user acceptance testing; technical training’s and day-to-day operational management of global applications.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Analyze specific implementation requirements.
- Carry out a gap analysis with respect to a specific software product or mapping to business process.
- Propose a solution to meet any shortfall.
- Ensure application deployments meet regional standards and quality assurance guidelines.
- Provide post production support, On call for Emergencies
- Design, develop and deliver training in the implementation and technical support of new DHL applications and versions when required.
- Prepare operating procedures and installation checklists to enable country-level IT to perform subsequent installation, upgrades and training for in-country deployments.
- Assist in user training and testing.
- Provide consultative support to country-level IT and business units.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and audits.
- Participate in technical design reviews and third party software evaluation.
- Working relationship with the colleagues from different teams across the IT organization, on a global, regional and country level.
- Ensure all issues and requests are logged in the Service Desk.
- Ensure that Global change control policies are followed.
- Ensure all new applications and/or new releases are tested and obtained sign-off prior to implementation.
- Ensure approval is obtained from the Change Control Board (Country stakeholders) before making changes to the “live” environment.
- Able to communicate well with people on all levels, different backgrounds and cultures.
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with fellow colleagues, internal and external customers.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience in implementing and supporting business applications or projects.
- Business process knowledge - domain or industry related.
- Customer and end-user focused.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Creative problem solving skills and an ability to work conceptually.
- Able to achieve results through influencing others.
- Strong communications skills.
- 5 years of experience in a technical role or IT related field.
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Project or Program Delivery Manager (IT or in business)
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• 1+ years of experience in IT customer support
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• The role is customer-facing and requires a strong customer service orientation. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of IT customer support and experience in supporting XML, Java, J2EE, Web based application, and Database platform.
