Job Details

Provide comprehensive nursing care to women in Labour, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) . Assess and monitor maternal and fetal condition throughout labour. Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rate, uterine contractions, and labour progression . Prepare patients for normal delivery, assisted delivery, or emergency procedures as required. Assist obstetricians and midwives during normal and complicated deliveries . Provide continuous support, comfort, and pain-management assistance during labour. Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and other treatments safely. Identify signs of maternal or fetal distress and promptly inform the obstetrician. Assist with emergency obstetric interventions and resuscitation when required. Assist with immediate newborn care and assist with neonatal resuscitation when necessary. Monitor mother and newborn during the immediate post-delivery recovery period . Support breastfeeding initiation and promote early mother baby bonding. Maintain accurate nursing records, delivery notes, and patient documentation. Ensure strict infection-control, aseptic techniques, and patient-safety standards. Prepare and maintain LDR equipment, emergency supplies, and delivery room readiness. Educate mothers and families regarding labour, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. Coordinate effectively with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
