Nama Water Services (Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company) is pleased to announce a "Training for Employment" , in collaboration with its contracted companies that offer permanent job opportunities in the water and wastewater sector. Job Title: Cybersecurity Reports To: IT Manager / Cybersecurity Manager Job Details Number of Vacancies: 3 Positions Salary Range: OMR PHONE_NUMBER per month Work Location: All governorates of Oman except Dhofar (Preference will be given to applicants from the local governorate) Job Purpose The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for protecting the organization's information systems, networks, and digital assets from cyber threats. The role involves implementing security controls, monitoring security events, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security events, alerts, and incidents across the organization's IT infrastructure.
• Implement, configure, and maintain cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, antivirus systems, endpoint protection, SIEM, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• Investigate security incidents and coordinate response and recovery activities.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform security monitoring and threat analysis to detect potential cyber threats.
• Support the implementation of cybersecurity controls for new projects and systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Conduct security awareness training and provide guidance to employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Prepare security reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Practical Experience: 0 (No prior work experience required)
• Internship or academic projects in cybersecurity are an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
• Basic understanding of firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Understanding of network security, operating systems, and cloud security concepts.
• Familiarity with incident response and security monitoring concepts.
• Ability to analyze security logs and reports.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to security incidents.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Working Conditions

• Office-based environment with occasional on-site support activities.
• May require availability during cybersecurity incidents, emergencies, or planned maintenance windows.
