The General Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel to ensure all facilities, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas are safe, functional, and well maintained. The role supports smooth hotel operations by promptly addressing maintenance issues and upholding Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s maintenance schedule.
- Identify and report major repair needs or safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and in good working condition.
- Assist specialized technicians or contractors when required.
- Follow all health, safety, and fire regulations, including hotel SOPs and local laws.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of work completed.
- Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices within the hotel.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Diploma or technical certification in engineering, maintenance, or a related trade is preferred.
- Proven experience as a General Technician or similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance work.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
