About the Company:
For a Finance SAOG which is the one of the Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) in the Sultanate of Oman.
Job location: Muscat, Oman
As a "Head of Internal Audit" you are responsible for directing the internal audit activity service to the Board of Directors, ENRC and Audit Committee by providing ongoing assessments of the organizations systems of internal control, risk management and governance processes. You will be responsible to formulate, develop and execute internal audits, examine and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s system of internal and management controls and make appropriate recommendations.
Role & Responsibilities:
1) Prepare annual and strategic risk based audit plan based on organizations risk assessment
2) Plan, execute, and monitor the conduct of risk based audits from planning to reporting, as
per audit plan approved by the Audit Committee
3) Proactively identify and highlight critical issues & high fraud risk indicators in the Company’s
control processes, corporate governance, risk management and overall operations to Senior
Management, Audit Committee and Board of Directors
4) Review and finalize draft audit reports after discussions with the concerned Department
Head and CEO
5) Report and discuss audit findings, recommendations and corrective action plans to the Audit
Committee and Board of Directors
6) Conduct special audits/investigations at the request of the Audit Committee and Board of
Directors
7) Follow-up and ascertain whether Internal audit issues, Central Bank observations and
External Audit issues have been implemented
8) Review quarterly financial statements, compliance reports, etc. and provide independent
feedback & review points to the Audit Committee
9) Carry out ad hoc assignments such as review of policies & procedures, new systems, services,
projects, concurrent audits etc., and submit reports to the Senior Management, Audit
Committee & Board
10) Act as secretary to the Audit Committee and coordinate its activities (i.e. arranging for Audit
Committee meetings, preparation of meeting minutes, follow-up with the agreed actions
taken in meetings, etc.)
11) Maintain controls within Internal Audit Department and monitor that it is operating according to the best practices, regulations, auditing standards and the latest developments in the field
12) Mentor and train Internal Audit staff on technical and professional growth aspects
13) Coordinate with and provide support to External Auditors, IT Auditors, Lawyers, and Forensic Auditors etc. during their respective assignments
14) Scope of audit includes Anti-Money Laundering, Compliance, Risk Management, Information
Technology (IT), Information Security (IS), Corporate leasing, Vehicular leasing, Debt Factoring & Working Capital, Treasury, Finance and Accounts, Legal, Corporate Governance, Asset Receivables Management, Human Resources (HR), Credit Administration and Branch audits as per the approved Audit Plan.
15) Undertake any other assignment/project as determined by Audit Committee
Education:
- Academic: - Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance
- Professional qualifications :- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA),
- ACCA qualification or Professional Certificate of Internal Auditing from approved and
institutions
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Audit
