ChampionX is seeking to hire an Account Manager role based in Oman. This role will be part of the sales team organization that will support in growing the oil and gas field chemical technology business for Oil and Gas segment. This role will manage the respective sales for the assigned account and build robust client relationships by delivering value added solutions and services for ChampionX existing and new customers.

What You Will Do:


  • Follow safety policies to provide a safe workplace for all employees and supports the guiding principles of Goal Zero to continually improve the plant’s safety, health and environmental performance, security, design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of chemical products. Drive culture of safety; report safety observations / incidents


  • Supports and is committed to the Quality Improvement Process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work by “doing it right the first time” and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties, in our drive continuous improvement.


  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customers, including plant & warehousing facilities and executives. Leverage external network to pursue business opportunities within assigned accounts.


  • Manage and implement Operational Assurance programs across assigned accounts.


  • Issue monthly KPI reports with traffic lights, highlight improvement plans, follow up on projects progression.


  • Review all monitoring data and maintain company databases as appropriate.


  • Ensure lines of communication to Company Representatives and Company Site Representatives are maintained to successfully deliver contract scope.


  • Liaise between client and R&D department to scope and execute specialized corrosivity studies and suggest corrective actions/ optimization.


  • Review and provide recommendation on all monitoring and chemical performance reports.


  • Develop strategy document related to chemical treatment programs.


  • Review and provide recommendation to the Buyer on all oil/water/gas process monitoring and chemical performance matters.


  • Conduct root cause analysis based on on-site investigations and troubleshooting of shortfalls in existing chemical treatment programs.


  • Prepare written reports concerning chemical performance investigations, complete with detailed methods of overcoming the problems including improvement to the injection system design and scope of works for corrective action.


  • Provide product and application recommendation and associated reports as appropriate.


  • Conduct and manage product selection program, testing and evaluation as well as deployment and associated monitoring strategies.


  • Conduct and support field visits as required to support business opportunities.


  • Detailed knowledge of all production chemistry threats as judged by vendor’s competency system.


  • Proven track records of similar experience managing similar scope of work.


  • Responsible for CMS performance and delivery of annual plan and tracking and report KPI against plan and provide input into the PRM.


  • Responsible for providing adequate and competent resource and succession planning.


  • Responsible for providing support of technical expertise when needed.


  • Provide monthly reports of chemical use, ensure chemical stocks are available and spend against forecast to the company Production Chemist along with a summary of findings of his/her worksite visit.


  • Lead QPR meetings and provide day to day support to operations and escalate any performance issues to the Production Chemist.


  • Provide day to day support to the lab technician, setting sampling schedules and analysis requirements, reporting and executing deployment of all Production Chemistry barriers with the worksite Chemist.


  • Data management (solids analysis, water chemistry etc.) will be the responsibility of the CMS Chemist with input from the worksite technicians and reported to the Production Chemist paying particular attention to any variances (e.g. sudden change in water chemistry).


  • Generate all MoC for approval through company line management.


  • Production Chemist will be the primary point of contact for all day-to-day production chemistry management which will include ‘ad hoc’ worksite visits as required to ‘firefight’ and assure that company barriers are in place and being monitored and reported.


  • Attend all relevant meetings (Production Chemistry and Integrity Management, morning calls, HSSE etc.)


  • Identify and implement opportunities to drive optimization and continuous improvement (CI) to deliver better business performance.


  • Proactively audit Jr. representatives to ensure they have learned and incorporated safe practices while conducting field work.


  • Proficient in most/all types of field work, including sampling and testing knowledge, and transfer that expertise to more Jr. representatives through active training and coaching


  • Participate in trials, audits and field support activities outside of normal customer base.


Minimum Education and Experience:


  • Chemical Engineering Degree or an equivalent degree in Chemistry or Science background.


  • 5 years’ experience in Production Chemicals applications in Oil and Gas Industry


  • Thorough knowledge of pipeline corrosion mechanisms, dehydration applications, H2S scavenging, microbial and scaling with appropriate knowledge of remedial practices


  • Thorough experience in Oil & Gas Market.


  • Knowledge of general confidential information policies, procedures and regulations that governs employee and employer confidentiality, and of company confidentiality policies and procedures.


  • Willingness to travel and relocate if and when required.
