General Purpose

Serve as Atyab Group s in-house legal authority, providing the CEO, executive leadership and business functions with timely, practical legal counsel that enables sound decisions and protects the Group s interests. The role safeguards the company s legal position by drafting and negotiating its contracts and corporate documents, advising on legal risk, exposure and options, and ensuring the Group s actions comply with the applicable laws and regulatory framework. It manages the Group s litigation, disputes and regulatory matters directly and through external counsel and leads the legal team, contributing to corporate sustainability and growth in the short and long term.

Main Accountabilities

Legal Advisory & Business Support

  • Provide timely, high-quality legal advice, opinions, legal analysis, options and recommendations to Atyab Group s businesses and functions across all relevant jurisdictions to support the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Provide legal support to facilitate business operations, new business development and business growth, advising on structuring, feasibility and associated legal risk.
  • Provide comprehensive interpretation of the law and its corporate implications so that company representatives are fully aware of the consequences, mitigating legal risk and ensuring Atyab Group s activities are carried out lawfully.

Contracts & Corporate Documentation

  • Draft, review, negotiate and finalize a broad range of contracts and agreements (commercial, procurement, services, partnership, distribution, NDAs and similar), ensuring terms protect Atyab Group s interests and comply with the applicable legal framework.
  • Review and advise on official corporate documents and governance matters (BOD minutes, resolutions, acts, corporate contracts, partnership documentation, anti-bribery, corruption, whistle-blower, sanctions, export controls, trademark and brand) to ensure alignment with the legal framework.
  • Develop and maintain practical legal templates, guidelines and a compliance toolkit for managers, supervisors and employees to follow in performing their duties.
  • Regulatory, Risk & Compliance
  • Lead the research, analysis and interpretation of current and proposed laws, statutes and regulations in the jurisdictions where Atyab Group operates or develops business, assess their impact, and recommend practical legal solutions and required implementation actions.
  • Identify, assess and report the company s legal exposures and propose mitigating actions and preventive measures to minimize risk to the company and its employees.
  • Continuously monitor the company s actions and plans for potential legal exposure and flag any areas of concern, including action plans, recommendations and solutions.

Litigation, Disputes & External Counsel

  • Oversee and advise on the progress of litigation, disputes, claims and potential settlement processes, instructing and coordinating with external counsel to secure outcomes in Atyab Group s best interest.
  • Engage and supervise approved external law firms when necessary, ensuring legal services are delivered on time, to the highest quality and to cost-effective standards.

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Supervise, guide and develop the legal team allocating work, reviewing output, ensuring quality and supporting their professional growth.
  • Manage day-to-day legal relationships with key stakeholders, particularly governmental authorities and regulatory bodies, as well as external counsel and consultants.
  • Undertake any other related duties, projects or responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO or management, in line with the role and the evolving needs of the business.
Education
  • Bachelor s degree in Law. Master s degree in international law or corporate law (preferred).
Experience
  • 4+ years of total experience as a legal advisor/counsel, with strong exposure as in-house corporate legal counsel and/or a similar role.
  • Experience in corporate environments as in-house legal counsel, in national and (preferably) international operations.
  • Experience developing legal recommendations and practical legal solutions in corporate environments.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
  • General experience in corporate litigation and legal settlements.
  • General experience in local and international arbitration.
Know-How
  • Legal analysis and recommendations.
  • International and domestic law, both public and private.
  • Legal preventive measures for corporations and individuals.
  • Solid understanding of the legal system and regulatory framework locally and internationally.
  • Legal framework for the food industry.
  • Corporate, civil and commercial law.
  • Omani law and/or British law principles.
