Job description

The HSE engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and project requirements, conducting inspections and risk assessments, and promoting a safe working environment across the project.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor the HSE plan in accordance with local and international standards.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and record findings.
  • Enforce compliance with safety protocols for steel erection, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Lead incident investigations and report root causes with corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety documentation and logs for inspections, drills, and trainings.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety awareness sessions.
  • Review and approve contractors’ HSE documentation and method statements.
  • Participate in HSE audits and liaise with authorities when required.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and emergency response readiness.
  • Proactively promote a culture of safety and accountability on-site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.
  • Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree or diploma in engineering or HSE-related field.
  • 10+ years of HSE experience in infrastructure and steel structure projects.
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent mandatory.
