Job Purpose

The Senior ICT/ELV Engineer will lead the site supervision, technical design coordination, and quality assurance for all Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. The primary focus is to ensure the seamless delivery of complex, integrated systems—including specialist Theatre AV, Acoustic controls, and high-security infrastructure—meeting the unique requirements of a world-class cultural landmark.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the supervision of installation, integration, and commissioning for advanced systems: Theatre/Stage Lighting & AV, Integrated ICT/Data Centers, Building Management Systems (BMS), Public Address (PA/VA), and Security (CCTV/Access Control).

  • Manage the technical interface in a Design-Build environment, ensuring the contractor’s designs and shop drawings align with the project’s high-performance requirements and acoustic sensitivities.

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for Omani authorities (e.g., TRA, ROP) to ensure all ELV and Life Safety systems are compliant and approved for operation.

  • Conduct rigorous reviews of complex technical submittals, Method Statements, and “As-Built” documentation. Ensure specialized equipment (theatre-grade AV/Acoustics) meets international cultural institution standards.

  • Lead the multi-disciplinary T&C phase for all ELV systems, ensuring total integration with Fire Life Safety and building automation.

  • Supplement inspection records with detailed technical reports and high-resolution photography. Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Field Observation Reports for all ICT/ELV deviations.

  • Provide regular updates to the RE on system delivery progress, potential integration risks, and technical hurdles, ensuring all project KPIs and safety standards are met.

Skills & Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.

  • Minimum of 15 years of total experience, with at least 8–10 years specifically in Site Supervision within a consultancy environment.

  • Proven track record in delivering high-profile landmarks, specifically Cultural Centers, Theatres, National Museums, or ultra-luxury mixed-use developments.

  • Advanced knowledge of ICT infrastructure (FTTH, Structured Cabling) and Data Centers.

  • Professional Sound/AV, Stage Management Systems, and Lighting Control.

  • Proficiency in Fire Alarm, Security (CCTV/AC), BMS, and GRMS.

  • Deep familiarity with Omani local authority regulations (ROP, TRA) and international standards (TIA/EIA, NFPA, BICSI).

  • Exceptional verbal and written English skills; the ability to present complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders and clients.

Core Competencies

  • The ability to visualize and manage how disparate ELV systems (Security, AV, BMS) must communicate and function as a single, unified network.

  • Highly sensitive to the physical placement of ICT/ELV equipment to ensure it does not interfere with the architectural aesthetics or acoustic performance of theater and gallery spaces.

  • Capable of resolving “Design vs. Reality” clashes on-site, particularly in a Design-Build context where rapid, code-compliant solutions are required.

  • The confidence to lead technical meetings with specialist international sub-contractors and hold them to the highest standards of workmanship.

  • High attention to detail when reviewing complex schematic diagrams and logic flows for building automation and theater controls.

  • A strict adherence to Omani security and safety codes, ensuring the National Theatre and Museum meet all public safety requirements.
