The Assistant Safety & Security Manager supports the Safety & Security of the hotel in ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment for guests, colleagues, contractors, and hotel assets. This role plays a key part in implementing IHG and Crowne Plaza brand standards, local legal requirements, and emergency preparedness programs while promoting a strong safety culture across the hotel.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Managing daily security operations to ensure the safety of guests, colleagues, and property.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of IHG Safety & Security standards, brand guidelines, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular patrols, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure proper operation and monitoring of CCTV systems, access control, fire alarm systems, and other security equipment.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and updating emergency response plans (fire, evacuation, medical emergencies, bomb threats, natural disasters, etc.).
- Act as a key responder during incidents and emergencies, ensuring timely communication and appropriate action.
- Support investigations of incidents, accidents, theft, or loss and prepare accurate reports in line with IHG procedures.
- Support fire life safety programs, including drills, training, inspections, and compliance with civil defense requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering and relevant departments to ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, licenses, and certifications.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and scheduling the security team to ensure effective coverage at all times.
- Conduct safety and security training for colleagues, including induction and refresher sessions.
- Promote a proactive safety mindset and ensure colleagues understand their role in maintaining a safe environment.
- Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and external agencies as required.
- Handle guest and colleague concerns related to safety and security in a professional, discreet, and service-oriented manner.
- Support VIP, group, and high-profile event security requirements, especially in coordination with hotel events.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly security and safety reports.
- Analyze trends from incidents, audits, and inspections to recommend preventive measures.
- Support internal audits, brand compliance reviews, and safety assessments.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel safety and security, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior experience in an international hotel brand, preferably IHG, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of fire life safety systems, emergency response procedures, and local safety regulations in Oman.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate with experience in reporting systems and CCTV monitoring platforms.

- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to risk management.
