Job Title: Data Digitization, Conversion and Migration - DCM Consultant

Location: Sultanate of Oman

 

Position Overview

The role seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Collection, digitization, Cleansing, and Migration Specialist to join and work with the project team. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles, proficiency in data digitization and cleansing techniques, and expertise in data migration strategies. It requires understanding business requirements and develop the data models required and efficiently handle the volumes of data being migrated. The role requires combination of coordination, business process knowledge with know-how of data conversion and migration.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end process of acquiring, digitizing, cleansing, and migrating data to the target system. The candidate will work closely with the client, application experts and consultants as well as technical experts. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring overall client satisfaction in order to deliver the Data Conversion and Migration activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and sources.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure successful data integration.
  • Develop and implement data collection strategies to ensure comprehensive and accurate data acquisition.
  • Utilize various data collection methods, including spreadsheet, API integration, and manual data entry.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure successful data integration.
  • Identify and rectify inconsistencies, errors, and inaccuracies in the existing data sets.
  • Implement data cleansing procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to validate and verify data accuracy.
  • Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring a smooth transition of data from one system to another.
  • Develop and implement migration scripts and tools to automate the process.
  • Collaborate with IT and other teams to minimize downtime and ensure data consistency during migration.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • 100% compliance with data quality criteria: Perform the DCM activities as per the quality requirements in the process of migration to the target system.
  • 100% Customer Satisfaction by delivering successful and smooth migration of the required data from the source systems to the target system.
  • Knowledge transfer through on the job training to the team members and client side team.

 


Skills

Qualifications

Technical Experience required:

  • Minimum have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience working on similar roles having data conversion and migration activities preferable in public financial sector.
  • Proven experience in data collection, digitization, cleansing, and migration in a business environment.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation tools and languages (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Python, Excel).
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of Source to Target mapping between different source systems and ERP solutions preferable Oracle ERP


Skills

  • Ability to develop or revise the data conversion and migration approach as new data requirements arise.
  • Ability to convert data and related techniques to acquire data needed to support testing, training, and other application development activities.
  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
  • Certification in data management or related field is a plus.
