Role Objective:Responsible for the management, integrity, and regulatory compliance of all aircraft maintenance and airworthiness records. This role ensures accurate recording, storage, retrieval, and updating of documents in accordance with aviation authority regulations, aircraft lease requirements, and company procedures. The position is critical for supporting audits, aircraft transfers, and ensuring ongoing airworthiness.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Oversee the collection, review, verification, and archiving of all maintenance records, including work packages, technical logs, task cards, component changes, and certifications.- Maintain updated records for airframe, engines, APUs, landing gear, and other major components (LLP, hard time, and on-condition).- Ensure all maintenance tasks are properly documented and retained in accordance with regulations (e.g., CAA Oman).- Manage electronic records systems (AMOS) and ensure accurate data entry and maintenance.- Oversee scanning, indexing, and quality control of digitized documents.- Implement and maintain document control procedures and version control.- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for maintenance records retention, formatting, and accessibility.- Support internal and external audits (e.g., by CAA Oman, EASA, IOSA, lessors) by preparing and presenting required documentation.- Provide documentation support for CMR (Certificate of Maintenance Review) issuance and airworthiness reviews.- Provide C of A renewal documentation and required data for operational requirements. - Prepare complete maintenance history documentation packages for aircraft redelivery, lease return, or sale.- Liaise with lessors and finance departments to ensure compliance with contractual record-keeping requirements.- Manage back-to-birth traceability for LLP components.- Lead and manage a team of maintenance records officers.- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure high levels of accuracy and efficiency.- Develop and implement policies and procedures for record retention, archiving, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements- Ensure renewal of Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMR) in a timely manner.- Ensure AMOS system is well updated with aircraft technical logs and obtains flying hours and aircraft cycles to maintain an updated history of all aircraft and components.- Prepare periodic (i.e., monthly) aircraft, engines and fleet utilization reports, in close collaboration with the Technical Contracts and other Technical Services departments.- Address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues through adequate coordination with Maintenance, other Technical Services, and Quality Assurance departments.- Provide support during aircraft lease return project. - Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance departments to ensure seamless information flow.- Act as the focal point for records-related queries during regulatory or lessor audits.- Implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions in response to internal and external audit findings and for investigation recommendations. - Propose revisions to company documentation such as CAME, EPMs, and related manuals whenever necessary.- Lead a team of technical records specialists, provide guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality work and professional development of team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.- Contribute to the yearly budget preparation for the department. - Ensure that the training requirements for the staff are fulfilled as per the regulatory- Carry out any other maintenance records related tasks as and when directed by VP-CAMO.- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.
Qualification & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Aeronautical / Mechanical engineering or relevant discipline; post-graduate degree in a related discipline would be an asset. - OR ICAO Type II license with minimum of 10 years of relevant experience preferable in aircraft maintenance records.- In-depth knowledge of CAA Oman regulations and industry best practices.
Special Skills & Knowledge:- Professional certifications in aviation records management (e.g., CAM, CMM) is a plus - Expertise in Engineering and aviation technical services and record keeping - Knowledge of international and regional civil aviation regulations, including but not limited to Oman civil aviation regulations and operations manuals- Deep understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in technical services - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of data and documentation- Strong communication skills: Dynamic and motivational leader, with a strong presence and excellent communication and public speaking skills in English - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment / transformational setting - Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (preferred)
