The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the maintenance, servicing, and repair activities of company vehicles, including trucks and cars. The role involves liaising with service centers, monitoring vehicle condition, identifying technical issues, arranging spare parts, and ensuring the fleet remains operational and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance for company trucks and cars.
  • Liaise with external workshops and service centers for vehicle repairs and servicing.
  • Monitor vehicle service schedules, insurance, registration, & maintenance records.
  • Identify technical faults and communicate repair requirements to technicians and workshops.
  • Source spare parts from suppliers, the local market, or scrapyards when required.
  • Follow up on repair progress and ensure timely vehicle availability.
  • Maintain records of maintenance history, spare parts usage, and repair costs.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fleet vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and roadside assistance when necessary.
  • Verify repair quality and ensure vehicles are operating efficiently after servicing.
  • Support cost control by comparing quotations & monitoring maintenance expenses.
  • Coordinate with drivers and the operations team on vehicle condition and breakdown issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and transport policies.

Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • Experience in vehicle maintenance, workshop operations, or fleet servicing.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of trucks and passenger vehicles.
  • Experience coordinating with service centers and spare parts suppliers.

Skills

  • Good technical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance.
  • Spare parts sourcing and vendor coordination.
  • Record keeping and maintenance tracking.
  • Communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Excel, maintenance records, email).
