Roles and Responsibilities Medication Dispensing Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness. Dispense prescribed medications in accordance with legal and professional standards. Ensure correct dosage, strength, and formulation of medications. Maintain accurate records of dispensed medicines. Patient Counseling Educate patients on the proper use of medications. Explain dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Provide guidance on medication storage and adherence. Address patient questions and concerns regarding prescribed treatments. Medication Management Monitor medication therapy and identify potential drug-related problems. Review patient medication histories for allergies and interactions. Recommend appropriate medication alternatives when necessary. Support medication reconciliation processes. Inventory and Supply Management Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and pharmacy supplies. Monitor inventory for expired, damaged, or recalled products. Coordinate procurement and storage of pharmaceutical products. Ensure proper storage conditions for medications. Regulatory Compliance Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards. Maintain controlled substance records and documentation. Ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance procedures. Participate in pharmacy audits and inspections. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Provide drug information and pharmaceutical recommendations. Participate in multidisciplinary patient care activities. Assist in developing medication-related policies and protocols. Clinical and Administrative Duties Monitor adverse drug reactions and report them as required. Prepare pharmacy reports and maintain patient records. Support health promotion and disease prevention initiatives. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
