Roles & Responsibilities:

Managerial and Leadership

  • The position is responsible for executing all functions of the organization. Plans, establishes and develops company policies and objectives in accordance with the CEO's directives and the corporate charter.
  • Monitor Operational performance and financial performance of the organization against the approved plans, and report performance to the CEO within the set timelines and budget.
  • Determination and execution of industrial, labour, public relation policies with the aim to improve the image of the organization and its relationship with its customers, employees, stakeholders and various regulatory and statutory bodies.
  • Determines the financial, operational, commercial and human resources strategies of the organization and submits them to the CEO for approval and subsequent implementation.
  • Responsible for the selection of key personnel for the organization
  • Leads the teams to achieve organizational goals, capture market share, increase revenue levels, identify cost reduction strategies and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Sets and evaluates targets to his subordinates and key personnel in the organization with the aim of improving their performance.
  • Provides regular reports and updates to the CEO on the organizational performance
  • Leads the senior management teams to plan business objectives and coordinates operational synergies between departments.
  • Recommends new strategical projects or new business opportunities to the CEO.
  • Constantly monitors any changes, improvements to the overall ground handling sector within Oman and the rest of the world, identifies industry specific benchmarks and presents them to the CEO. Defines lines of accountability, including the direct accountability for senior management for operations, safety, security and quality across the organization.
  • Reviews the organization risks across all areas and ensures the control measures identified through the risk assessment are applied, monitored and are effective.
  • Leads the investigation into any incidents and accidents and ensures identified measures are implemented and are monitored for effectiveness.
  • Ensures the organizational document system is effective. Approves all the manuals of the companies and any Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures that there is a process of regular management review of any significant issues arising from the safety program by the operations management
  • Ensures that the organization has a sound process of maintaining records
  • Make certain the availability of resources through assigning the responsibility to ensure ground operations are provided with the necessary resources and the conduct of operations are in accordance with the standards of the organization, any applicable regulations and the requirements of customer airline.
  • Ensures there is a proper planning of resources (manpower and equipments) and other operational tools enabling operational efficiency, safety and security.
  • Managing people effectively by developing positive relationships with colleagues and team members. Implement strategies and execute actions to promote and maintain employee morale and motivation, and evolve and maintain a culture of high performance and responsibility.
  • Create and Lead a customer-centric organization which emphasizes on safety, security and customer service, while providing value addition to the stakeholders.
  • Interpret and enforce international and national aviation regulations and standards required of a ground service provider as appropriate.
  • Examine regulations and policies within the industry and formulate necessary changes to business approaches and internal processes to ensure the organization is in full compliance and works within the regulatory and governance framework.
  • Align lease and concession agreements against operational strengths and revenue targets.
  • Enhance the organizations selling strength and capability to match up to business expectations.
  • Work with the CEO to refine the mission, goals and priorities of the organization. Securing financial resources and ensuring that these resources are properly utilized

Operations

  • Ensure the provision of a safe, secure and reliable operations through the application of effective operational strategies.
  • Set clear performance objectives to all the operational line managers and monitors their delivery and
  • performance.
  • Ensure the operations are performed within all the parameters of regulatory standards, national rules, policies, written agreement obligations, while applying best practices in ground handling operations.
  • Discuss the operational performance of the organization with the heads of departments on a periodic basis and identify areas of concerns for immediate action.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and enhance relationships with government, regulatory agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure their interests are as aligned with those of the organization
  • Work together effectively and persuasively with all stakeholders and maintain regular effective communication.
  • Communicate with national regulators and other international bodies regularly to identify new changes as to advise the CEO on areas for improvement and potential development.


Job Requirements:

  • Must be Omani National
  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline preferably in aviation management
  • A minimum of 17 years of relevant work experience preferably in airline operations with a minimum of 7 years being in a senior management role.
