Project Engineer – Luxury Interior Design & Fit-Out

Job Summary:


The Project Engineer will play a key role in managing the technical aspects of luxury interior

design and fit-out projects, ensuring the smooth execution of the work from concept to

completion. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction processes,

technical details, and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering

high-end fit-out projects. This role will involve coordination across multiple disciplines, from

design and procurement to on-site construction and final delivery.


Key Responsibilities:


• Project Planning & Coordination: Support the Project Manager in developing detailed

project plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the project to

ensure that it progresses smoothly and stays on track.

• Technical Oversight: Oversee the technical execution of all site works, ensuring that

they meet the design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Address

any technical issues that arise and provide effective solutions.

• Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate closely with architects, designers, MEP

engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of the design and

construction processes. Coordinate with the design team to ensure the technical feasibility

of design solutions.

• Site Management: Supervise on-site activities, ensuring that the construction and fit-out

works are being carried out according to plan and meet the required quality standards.

Conduct regular site inspections and report on progress.


• Quality Control: Ensure that all works are completed to the highest standards, adhering

to the client’s specifications and the company’s quality control processes. Perform

regular checks to identify any discrepancies and rectify them promptly.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on

site. Monitor safety practices and enforce safety standards to create a safe working

environment for all workers and subcontractors.

• Procurement and Material Management: Assist with the procurement process,

ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment to the site. Track inventory and

manage logistics to avoid delays in project execution.

• Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project costs and work within the approved budget.

Assist in managing costs related to labor, materials, and equipment, and identify areas for

cost savings without compromising quality.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including

daily reports, progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings. Provide regular

updates to the Project Manager on project status, milestones, and any challenges.


• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any technical or logistical issues that arise on-

site, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule and progress.


• Client Liaison: Interact with clients or client representatives to provide updates on the

project’s progress, address concerns, and ensure their expectations are met.

Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a

related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, with a focus on luxury interior

design and fit-out projects.

• Proven experience in managing complex fit-out projects, particularly in high-end

residential, commercial, or hospitality sectors.

• Strong understanding of interior construction, finishes, and technical aspects related to

luxury fit-outs (e.g., MEP systems, flooring, lighting, furniture installation).

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide

effective solutions to challenges that arise during project execution.

• Solid understanding of construction project management tools, including scheduling, cost

management, and quality control.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with

clients, contractors, and internal teams.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and

contracts.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (e.g., Procore,

Buildertrend, or similar), and AutoCAD or similar technical drawing software.
