Main tasks and responsibilities:


International Taxation and Transfer Pricing:

  • Proactively analyze and advise on existing or envisaged business operating models and identify key tax risks and opportunities, especially concerning tax costs, permanent establishment risks, and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Proactively analyze and advise on existing or envisaged related party transactions taking into account local and international transfer pricing rules.
  • Proactively analyze and advise on mergers and acquisitions in a way that ensures incurring the least possible tax costs and optimal tax position.
  • Proactively analyze and advise on any risks that may arise from the global mobility of employees.
  • Conduct a periodic review of related party transactions and work with the relevant business units to ensure that such transactions are properly documented, benchmarked, and fulfilling the arm’s length principle where appropriate in accordance with the applicable laws.
  • Advise and provide guidance to other finance teams and business units concerning key cross-border activities or related party transactions.
  • Conduct periodic awareness sessions on tax operating guidelines for the relevant teams to ensure a proper understanding of pertinent tax risks and their mitigative actions.
  • Manage tax transformation initiatives including the business adaptation to new legislations, operational improvements, and tax digitalization.
  • Maintain the tax governance framework including policies, processes, risks, and controls.
  • Manage and ensure timely preparation and submission of Transfer Pricing documentation including Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR), local files, and master files in compliance with relevant laws and international standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance for overseas Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), ensuring compliance with direct and indirect tax obligations, as well as economic substance (ES) regulations in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Lead the implementation of BEPS 2.0 project including Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 compliance, ensuring compliance with global minimum tax regulations and addressing potential tax liabilities across jurisdictions.


Direct Tax:

  • Manage the tax accounting activities including financial analysis, and periodical tax provisioning, and ensure fully reconciled and clean tax accounts.
  • Manage the preparation and review of the tax returns and the accurate and timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Manage tax audits and tax assessments including preparing responses, creating schedules, drafting formal correspondence, etc. in the most favorable manner.
  • Plan for and develop an overall compliance calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with the tax team.
  • Preparation of periodic financial statement tax provision and relevant schedules.
  • Visit and discuss with relevant tax authorities as and when required and according to internal instructions.
  • Builds, manages and maintains strong relationships with direct & indirect tax agencies and external advisers.
  • Identify tax efficiencies and optimization opportunities that add value to the business.
