This position is accountable for the following results:
Act as a competent person HV (11kV) for the operation and maintenance of the electrical system. Oversee all activities related to electrical works for all the sites.
Liaise closely with the regional maintenance Manager on the timing of regular preventive maintenance programs as per SAP PM02 and train/educate electrical personnel in sites on efficient and safe task execution methodologies.
Support the Cryo and CE departments for the electrical maintenance, modifications, design and modifications.
Ensure that electrical-specific PPE and tools are routinely inspected and audited. When necessary, escalate issues to the central maintenance manager.
Supervise and advise the regional maintenance manager on proper and regular maintenance of equipment contracted to vendors and periodic review of their performance. Assist plant site lead on documentation to maintain ISO certification.
Ensure the site electrical technicians/contractors conduct proper electrical safety practices and measures through routine audits.
Manage, direct, and continually improve the operation of the ASU and LCO2 units in Oman.
Optimise, develop, assist, and advise the site on all the electrical items sparing strategies and inventory.
Support projects (plant project or CE) on electrical matters from time to time whenever assigned by the maintenance manager.
Support the Cryo maintenance on electrical matters whenever assigned by the regional maintenance manager.
Emergency response is required seven days a week/ 24 hours a day. The electrical engineer must be able to make decisions based on consulting the regional maintenance manager, CE/Cryo maintenance team, operations, and engineering outside of regular working hours to resolve the issue at hand. The engineer must coordinate with the different teams that must be prepared on short notice to respond to unscheduled events while maintaining safety standards and work quality.
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical or Instrument & Control Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years experience in gas, petrochemical, or related industries in operations, construction, engineering, and maintenance functions. Air separation, package gas operations, and LCO2 and SMR operations are a plus.
- 8+ years in electrical maintenance supervision with a demonstrated understanding of the maintenance work process and a track record
- Demonstrated technical and practical engineering skills with good business sense in maintenance.
- Proven coordination experience in a multi-team environment, which includes engineering and maintenance.
- Good leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all organisational levels and externally.
- Promotes a ‘one team’ environment.
- Strong oral and written skills with the ability to communicate and manage maintenance activities to the complex management team daily.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of constructing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment (e.g., motors, transformers, power factors, etc.).
- Knowledge of pressurised and control systems (PLC, DCS, etc.).
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of local environmental and health and safety requirements.
- Strong computer skills, knowledgeable in maintenance software programs, with a background in SAP
- Knowledge of the main concepts of material management for the IG units/plants and ensuring safe spare parts for all locations.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are critical to the position.
- Holding a good base of project management skills to execute complex tasks, major shutdowns and upgrades for plants and large equipment.
