Role Overview

The Regional Head of Operations will be responsible for managing and optimizing the operational activities within their designated region. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of regional market dynamics, strong operational expertise, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers based out of Muscat with Engineering and other support being remote.


Responsibilities:

Regional Strategy Development and Execution

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and cater to the specific needs of the region.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish regional goals and objectives.


Operational Project Management:

  • Oversee all operational functions within the region, including production, supply chain, logistics, and customer service.
  • Ensure that regional operations comply with company standards, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor regional operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Oversee Project Managers to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Managers, facilitating the resolution of project-related issues and challenges.
  • Review and approve project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.


Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the regional operational budget.
  • Ensuring on-time billing and Revenue Recognition as per project plan
  • Monitor and control operational costs to maximize efficiency and profitability within the region.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.


Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the region and implement effective solutions.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and operational enhancements.
  • Ensure regional processes are scalable and adaptable to growth.


Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, vendors, and customers within the region.
  • Act as a liaison between regional operations and other departments to ensure alignment and cooperation.
  • Represent the region in meetings and strategic discussions with customer and senior leadership.


Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks in regional operations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement robust quality control measures to maintain high operational standards.


Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

  • Ensure that all operations comply with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a safe working environment and lead initiatives to improve health and safety practices.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.


Perform other related duties as required


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale operations and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience leading a team
  • Experience with various contract models and their specific requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Flexibility to work in regional/remote sites
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably within the Water industry.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial management.
  • Valid driver's license.
