Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team in Oman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medication to patients, offering pharmaceutical care and providing health advice to improve patient outcomes. You will be working closely with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure optimal pharmaceutical services in line with Oman’s healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing Medications: Accurately prepare, compound, and dispense medications based on prescriptions from healthcare providers.
- Patient Consultation: Provide expert advice and counsel to patients regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, and proper storage.
- Medication Management: Ensure appropriate stock levels of medications, monitor expiry dates, and maintain records as per regulatory requirements.
- Prescription Review: Verify the accuracy and validity of prescriptions, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- Pharmaceutical Care: Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes through appropriate medication therapy.
- Health and Wellness Advice: Provide guidance on lifestyle changes, diet, and preventive care measures, including vaccinations and disease management.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to pharmacy laws, ethical standards, and best practices, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensure proper storage, and handle returns of expired medications.
- Pharmaceutical Research: Stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical research and trends, applying new knowledge to enhance pharmacy services.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognized institution.
- Licensing: Must be licensed to practice as a pharmacist in Oman or be eligible for licensing.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic and English is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions and inventory.
